Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs)

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are conditions that affect the muscle

Some common MSDs include:

Back pain: Back pain is one of the most common types of MSDs and can be caused by poor posture, lifting heavy objects, or overuse of the muscles in the back.

Carpal tunnel syndrome: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition that affects the wrist and hand and is caused by pressure on the median nerve. This can be caused by repetitive motions such as typing or using a mouse.

Tendinitis: Tendinitis is inflammation of a tendon, usually due to overuse or repetitive movements. This can cause pain, swelling, and limited range of motion in the affected area.

Bursitis: Bursitis is inflammation of a bursa, a small sac of fluid that cushions and lubricates the joints. It can be caused by overuse or injury to the joint.

Arthritis: Arthritis is a condition that causes inflammation of the joints and can be caused by a variety of factors including genetics, age, and injury.

Symptoms of MSDs can include pain, swelling, stiffness, weakness, numbness, and tingling. Treatment for MSDs often includes physical therapy, medication, rest, and in some cases, surgery. Prevention of MSDs includes maintaining good posture, taking breaks during repetitive tasks, and exercising regularly to maintain strength and flexibility in the muscles and joints
